With the Captain, you swing for rings. This version of the DJ2 features a navy to gray stain finish with a unique pinstripe center brand decal. Previously known as the P72, this model was given its name when Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter retired in 2014 after using the bat his entire career.  The DJ2 features a standard handle thickness and longer barrel taper and was preferred by Jeter because it closely resembled the aluminum bat he used in high school.

BAT SPECS

The DJ2 was given its name when Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter retired in 2014 after using the same turning model his entire career. The model, previously known as the P72, appealed to Jeter because it closely resembled the aluminum bat he used in high school and has a medium-sized barrel for a bit more size than other, more balanced models. It is a ‘3’ (Slightly Balanced) on the Swing Weight Scale.

This model is made with Maple, which is the species preferred by more than 70 percent of Major League players. Maple bats are known for their surface hardness, unmatched sound and solid feel upon contact. The closed grain structure of the Maple wood lends itself to a more durable surface strength and stiffer feel. It has been stamped with an Ink Dot to indicate the highest quality wood bat, meeting slope-of-grain standards for play in Major League Baseball.
